Chester
Chester lived at the shelter from the time he was 8 weeks old until he was 1 1/2 years. Although he did eventually find a good forever home with kids he really enjoyed, 1 1/2 years is just too excessive a time to hold a dog trying to find it a new home.
The Shelter Share program can help shelters in this situation by transferring dogs, thus giving them new opportunities to find their new families.

Adoption Exchange
Help A Dog Get Another Chance
The NAC SPCA Adoption Exchange program is designed to give dogs that are finding it hard to get into a new forever family, a new chance by being relocated to another shelter. We know your shelter has dogs in this situation, so do we... We have dogs that have been featured at our Pet Fairs time and time again to the point they are well known by the people who come, but for whatever reason, they are never adopted. The Adoption Exchange program can get these dogs in front of a new audience where they once again can get a chance to find a family to take them home and love them like they deserve.
This program also helps with dogs that are creating a bond with a specific shelter worker which often leads to the "boomerang effect" when the dog is finally adopted but will not bond with his or her new family.

If your shelter has a dog or cat that for no real reason is not finding their new forever family, let's trade and give them a new opportunity.
